Thoroughly enjoyed my 2-day Dynamic Driving Masterclass at Millbrook, and achieved even more than I had hoped to. I gained a real understanding and appreciation of my GT3: having previously been a bit apprehensive that it would ‘bite’, but instead found it to be very progressive when grip levels were exceeded. The visual exercises and improvements are really helpful for smoothness and overall control; something that I must keep working on and use both on road and track.

I appreciated your clear and understandable teaching, with good 2 way open communication. I never felt rushed and it’s great that you individually tailored my course to my own pace, plus my existing ability and what I wanted to achieve. The variety of tracks at Millbrook allows one to achieve so many more objectives in 2 days versus the same time on a race circuit.

It’s difficult to know where to start with my 2 days with Ivan, as there was so much to take in and so much learnt. It was my first time giving my new car more than just a few boots with my right foot and Ivan helped to give me more confidence in what the car could do and how to look out for what other people are doing. This is definitely a course for driving better and safer as well as faster, rather than simply a blitz around a track. The Millbrook day was challenging but fun and the road day was eye-opening; experiencing lovely roads at speed, safely (and legally).

I’ll probably never forget driving into a petrol station straight after the course thinking how I should take the corners, and I definitely feel my brain has been rewired to drive in a more proactive, present way. I would recommend anyone wanting to test themselves, their car and the potential of both, to take some time with Ivan.

The 2-Day Total Control Masterclass was a fabulous 50th birthday gift from my wife. The first day at Millbrook left me with a new appreciation for the word ‘smoothness’. Ivan’s way of teaching is concise, clear and easy to follow. Day one started with some theory before heading out to the various test track facilities. These are designed to highlight where you may need improvements, and I didn’t disappoint! Throughout the day my vehicle came alive and with Ivan’s excellent instruction made it a pure joy to experience, slowly but effectively ironing out and improving my technique.

Day two out and about on great B roads, and this was where everything became so clear. The various skills learnt on day one made perfect sense once we applied them to the open road. The elation of receiving my birthday present pales next to the feeling after the course, now that I have started on a journey to being a much better, smoother and safer driver.

I strongly advise anyone to seek Ivan’s tuition and benefit from his extensive knowledge; every time I think back to these wonderful two days I gain an instant Cheshire cat grin!

I thoroughly enjoyed my 2 day Total Control Masterclass with Ivan. He was extremely knowledgeable, experienced and patient throughout and adapted his training to suit me and my current abilities, allowing me to learn as much as possible over the two days.

At the end of the first day at Millbrook, I came away with a lot more to take on board and apply than I thought possible after reading and watching lots of car control videos over the last couple of years since owning a performance car; none of which matched the speed and understanding I gained with Ivan.

I particularly enjoyed the first day’s Dynamic Handling at Millbrook, where I began to understand weight transfer of the car, by incrementally reducing the amount of assistance the traction control system gave, until it was completely turned off, where I did my first drift in a safe and secure environment while on a wet surface to minimise any wear on my tyres.

Meeting up on the second day, I wondered what could we possibly be covering on public roads… again, I was shocked by how much there was to learn and how I could apply the skills learnt at Millbrook on public roads, not to mention the many things I could do to alter other people’s driving, to our mutual benefit and safety, while still enjoying the capabilities of the car in a safer way.

Would I recommend this course to anyone hovering over the buy button? Most definitely! Book now, you won’t regret it.

My aim was to fully experience my 1997 Porsche 911 (993), and this was achieved beyond my (high) expectations. On completing the course I feel more in control of the car and the driving environment, I take more care yet am more progressive and I look forward to driving my 993 and other cars with more enthusiasm.

The two days worked very well for me. I like to learn and have the opportunity to practice and implement. Millbrook provided a perfect environment to achieve this. The most enjoyable aspect of this was the trail braking practice on the Steering Pad and then implementing it on the technical courses.

The second day provided the opportunity to apply key techniques to the open road, which was invaluable. Rather than racing, the open roads provided a variety of advanced driving opportunities which I continue to use in my driving.

The two days was to me, and my wife, great value. I look forward to doing an update with a different car.

I contacted TCC initially as a birthday present for my wife. We recently upgraded to an M4, which has a reputation of being a little spiky with its power delivery. Our previous car was all wheel drive and felt very planted on the roads of the Lake District. Kerrie in her own words was driving Miss Daisy in the M4, as she did not feel on top of the car’s handling and power delivery.

Due to the travelling time, I decided I would take part too, and we split our 2 days at Millbrook which worked out well for us. I felt that I was already an okay driver, with a good feel as to how to drive a car. How wrong was I!

Ivan is a professional driver and has been for over 20 years. Whatever you drive and how well you think you drive, there is a massive gap between a keen amateur and a professional. Suck that up and get yourself booked on a course with Ivan.

We both quickly started to understand and explore the capability and limits of our M4 in a safe environment, with loads of room when we got things wrong. The 2 days passed way too quickly, an hour in the car felt like 5 minutes, and we both came away with a wealth of knowledge. Yet we also understand that we have only scratched the surface, with loads more to learn from Ivan, and we’ll enjoy the process!

My experience of the Total Control Masterclass was exemplary. From first contact, I felt that the course was tailored to my needs and both days addressed my main areas of interest – gaining confidence with my 350Z under trying circumstances and cleaning up some bad habits I’d picked up but was struggling to drop. I believe my daily driving has become a lot smoother and more sympathetic towards my car and engine. Some months after the course, I still find myself practising elements learned, which I think shows how valuable they are.

The course is intense and quite tiring, I enjoyed the balance of part track and part road teaching. The skid pan was a blast, as I hoped it would be. I would now be confident of taking the 350Z out on track, which was one of my main aims. I also find myself engaging more on the road. I heartily recommend the course for anyone who is interested in polishing up their skills behind the wheel.
