A quick note to tell you how much I enjoyed the day spent with you at Millbrook last month. The training was quite intensive, but the relaxed and informative teaching method made it possible to pack a lot into the day without overload.

It was a real eye opener, helping me to appreciate the potential of my car and how subtle driving techniques can greatly add to driving enjoyment. I found the analysis of the theory of dynamics that underpin the 991’s behaviour very interesting, especially as I then got to experience the situations discussed on the spot.

I thoroughly recommend the course to anyone with a good car and an interest in getting the most out of it. Looking forward to spending another day with you.

During my Dynamic Handling Masterclass at Millbrook with Total Car Control I learned, at my own pace, how the limits of my car are reached, what happens when I exceed them and how to reign it back in, plus how to safely use all that power and braking capability; all at speeds I would not have thought possible.

Back on the road I’m now driving smoother, quicker and enjoying my car even more than before. My conclusion is that this training was an essential purchase and, for me, the only way to get full value out of my ‘ultimate driving machine’.

I attended a Total Car Control Dynamic Handling Masterclass in February and what a day! I wanted to gain confidence based on skill and understanding to enjoy my BMW 335i M Sport to the full, and am so glad I chose TCC.

Millbrook is a fantastic venue and Ivan was very professional and clear in his coaching, with a lot of patience. I will not list his credentials as it is not my place, but let’s say I was in very safe and experienced hands. This certainly helped me to relax and we were able to modify basics such as my driving position and then explore best use of gears, depth of braking, driving line and driving observation amongst other things. When we removed traction control and put the car into controlled oversteer, I haven’t had so much fun in a long time, beaming from ear to ear. At intervals Ivan also took to the wheel to gently demonstrate key techniques which was very useful and increased my confidence in the car to a new level and set a level to aspire to.

By the end of the day I was pushing as far as my newby brain would allow and driving a lot more smoothly and therefore quickly. Also incorporated was some awareness training and exploring stopping distances and stability. So, a mix of info and a large dollop of fun, plus a nod to the serious stuff made for a very well balanced day.

I am very pleased that I took this decision and, with techniques to polish and then build upon, I am confident that my driving control has improved and I can now do the car more justice. I never realised how far you can push a BMW 335i and shall definitely return for further instruction, whether it be in this car or the next. Thanks again Ivan for a high level of instruction and a lot of fun.

I recently bought my dream car and was aware that the best thing I could do towards enjoying it in the most safe and appropriate way was to get professional driver training. I did the usual Google search and came across Total Car Control and called Ivan. I’m so glad I did. Ivan is an expert and deep listener. He worked out my attitude towards driving and what I would want to achieve at the end of the day. In my case that was understanding the limits of the car for any given situation, thereby instilling the sixth sense and confidence to enjoy the car on public roads in a safe and legal way. I wanted to treat the car as an instrument that, before meeting Ivan, I could kind of “play”, strum a bit and know a few chords but I knew I was no Jeff Beck or Carlos Santana! Back to cars, I aspired to be able to drive in the way I had read how Jackie Stewart drives – fast, smooth with very little inputs. Ivan gets that 100%.

So I booked my first day which was a mixture of on the road and a few hours at Millbrook. Conditions were cold and icy – ideal for learning about a powerful rear wheel drive car with summer tyres! To cut a long story short, Ivan taught me things about cars and driving that I had never considered. He is expert in giving feedback. After just a day’s training, my drive home was radically different. I gained a great respect for the car. I felt much more in control and confident about what the car was doing in response to my inputs, always having a safe space, how the car will behave in extreme circumstances, how to avoid those circumstances in the first place, letting the car’s technology take control in a way no human being (apart from a pro driver) could emulate and just having a better “feel” for the car; almost like a dance partner. My driving and enjoyment – in any car – has improved hugely but I am aware I need more training; 1 day with Ivan is a very good introduction but there are some coaching points I’d still like to work on with Ivan. “Driving” the car has a new meaning now – it’s all about my inputs. Brilliant value for money and someone always to keep in touch with. Hugely recommended!

I just wanted to drop you a note to thank you for a wonderful day at Millbrook last Friday. The Dynamic Handling Masterclass was excellent and not only met, but far exceeded my expectations. You provided exactly the service that I wanted and which we discussed. The rounds of drive, analyse, instruct and implement worked exceedingly well, quickly building up layer upon layer of skills and techniques whilst identifying and removing ingrained bad habits.

I was amazed by the improvement that was achieved in just one day. Not only was my driving smoother, safer and faster, my confidence in and control of the car was improved massively. I will continue to practice the principles learned and to avoid the bad habits that I had developed over the last 50 years of driving. I am looking forward with confidence to being able to tackle those Alpine and Norwegian mountain roads with considerably more aplomb next month.

I am recommending the course to everyone that I talk to and I expect that a number of my colleagues within the touring club of which I am a member will be contacting you soon. The course showed me the truth behind the saying that the most cost effective car performance upgrade is driver training and has convinced me to cancel the £3,000 of upgrades that I had planned. Thank you for the VIP service received during my driving course in March; your instructions were echoing at every single corner for a week afterwards!

As a woman who is not really keen on sports cars as much as men generally are, I have considered how I will be able to gain total control of the car without accidents. I have recently tried a drift lesson using an old rental car back home in Japan, and am planning to take some more lessons there and from others including relatives. I would then like to come back to you with my car.

I hope you will not be too popular or too busy when I am ready for my next course, as I really miss your first class service.

A quick email to say what an excellent day I had recently. The four or five aspects I wished to cover were more than explored under your expert tuition, with the most instructive skill being left foot braking, which I hadn’t considered such a useful driving tool until we used it on the Steering Pad.

All in all, a fantastic day’s driving tuition, with a vast array of knowledge on tap from one person. On top of that, a great day’s company from a real car and driving enthusiast. All the best.
