Total Car Control Ltd are top notch trainers. As a female driver wanting to take control of my new car, well I took to the internet for a trainer – as much as my husband is the love of my life and a capable racing driver, I do not follow his instructions well! Total Car Control appeared to be exactly what I was looking for. I wasn’t looking to fly around a track as fast as I could, but wanted to gain real skills that would translate to the road. I wanted to understand how my car reacts when put under pressure and how to handle it in tricky situations. I wanted to understand my car and how best to drive it to get the maximum fun and driving experience from it, safely.

Having once spun a car on a motorway exit at speed as a teenager, I had never really learnt from that experience, more, I had let it define my driving at speed around corners. I can happily say – that is now a thing of the past. From the moment of booking and chatting through my expectations and goals with Ivan, I was counting down the weeks until my course.

The first day at Millbrook was a pivotal day in my driving approach. Millbrook offers both the ability to drive fast, really fast, around a ‘handling’ track plus a hill course that simulates real roads a little more. Ivan’s approach to me being a lady girl racer was spot on. He made me feel at ease, not negative at all, only positive, which in turn brought out the best in my driving abilities. He counselled me through my previous spin-off and helped me recreate it on a safe area at Millbrook. He coached me how to get out of a situation like this again safely – and more importantly gave me the skills to never get myself or my car in that position ever again.

I thoroughly enjoyed my day at Millbrook and to be honest thought, job’s a good un’. I wasn’t really expecting too much from the second day, on road. How wrong I was. Having gained so many skills on day one, taking these and practising them on some amazing roads that Ivan has managed to discover, I just honed them. It was an absolute pleasure to be driving so fluidly and confidently on the roads with Ivan at my side still coaching and guiding. From the start of the day at 9 am to the end at 4pm, the transformation was immense. I might add that the lunch and coffee stops are well refined and the food was delicious too!

In short, if you want to become a more knowledgeable, experienced, safer, more spirited driver (man or woman) that understands and feels more at ease with a powerful car, do not look beyond Total Car Control.
